Runners show their speed during run

With sports events starting to open up again after the year-long Covid-19 hiatus, runners from Carletonville are also getting back into action.

As part of this increase in activity, three members of the Carleton Harriers Marathon Club took part in a trial run at Rysmierbult last weekend. The runners, Lizeth Kolbe, Esmé Engelbrecht and Tuness Prinsloo tackled the five-kilometre event with enthusiasm. Kolbe excelled and was the first woman over the finishing line, completing the distance in a time of 38:05 minutes. Engelbrecht was third in a time of 38:30, while Prinsloo scooped the fourth position in a time of 40:58.
