According to statistics released by the Gauteng Department of Health this afternoon 201 people from our municipal area have died of Covid-19.
This is five more than yesterday. There are 5 055 people who have been infected with the coronavirus in our area.
A total of 4 780 of them have recovered. In the meantime 12 540 residents of Mogale City (the Krugersdorp area) have been infected with the virus, of which 12 098 have recovered and 380 have died.
There are also a total of 6 941 infected people in Rand West City (the Randfontein and Westonaria area), of which 6 688 have recovered and 226 have died.
