House robbers strike in the morning

House robbers struck at yet another house in Carletonville last week.

According to the Carletonville police, the incident happened in Platinum Street on 23 March.

The residents, who had worked night shift the evening before, were asleep when three men entered by breaking open the back door at about 09:50.

The noises in the house woke the occupants and they went to check what was going on. However, one of the suspects stopped the resident in front, in his tracks and pointed a firearm at him.

The robbers warned him to keep quiet as they searched through the house for valuables. They grabbed two plasma televisions and a sound system before fleeing.

The police suspect that the thugs had initially planned to break into the house but the incident turned to house robbery when they encountered someone inside.

The police also determined that the men had arrived in a black Hyundai e120. No one had yet been arrested in connection with the incident.
