According to the Gauteng Department of Health 21 new cases of the coronavirus have been reported in the Merafong City Local Municipality area during the past day.
There are now 4 878 people who have been infected with the virus in our area. Of them 4 582 have recovered. So far 184 residents have died from Covid-19 in Merafong.
In the meantime 11 new cases have been reported in Mogale City (the Krugersdorp area), which brings their total to 12 424 cases.
Of them 11 990 have recovered while 374 patients from their area have died of Covid-19. There were only three new cases reported in Rand West City (the Randfontein and Westonaria area).
A total of 6 876 people from this area have so far been infected with the coronavirus, of which 6 620 have recovered and 223 have died.
