According to the Gauteng department of health there are now 4 360 residents of the Merafong City local municipal area who tested positive for the coronavirus. Of these 4 037 people have already recovered from the disease. The total number of cases has grown with 36 cases since Friday. Unfortunately nine residents of our area have lost their lives due to Covid-19 during the weekend. The total Covid-19 death toll in our area is 116. In the meantime there are now 11 761 coronavirus cases in Mogale City (the Krugersdorp area), of which 11 130 people have already recovered from the disease while 327 patients have died. In Rand West City (the Randfontein and Westonaria area) there are now 6 460 cases, of which 6 061 have recovered and 188 have died.
