The Carletonville police say the businessmen, originally from Pakistan, were busy in their shop in Emerald Street when two unknown men walked in. The men immedi-ately pulled out a knife and a 7.65 calibre pistol and ordered the businessmen to hand over their cell phones and the money in the shop.
The businessmen refused, how-ever, and started fighting with their attackers. Although they were both stabbed during the encounter, they managed to grab the firearm.
When the robbers saw the shoe was on the other foot and they could now be shot, they ran off towards the Carletonville Civic Centre.
