30 January: Another six Merafong residents die of Covid-19

There is still no stop to the coronavirus in our area.

According to statistics released by the Gauteng department of health this afternoon another six residents of the Merafong City local municipal area died of Covid-19 during the past day. This brings the death toll of the disease in our municipal area to 113. There were also another 23 Merafong residents who tested positive for the coronavirus during the past day. This brings the total number of cases in our area to 4 347. Of these 4 012 people have already recovered from the disease. There are also now 11 726 cases in Mogale City (the Krugersdorp- area) of which 11 066 have recovered and 326 have died. In Rand West City (the Randfontein and Westonaria area) there are 6 447 people who have tested positive for the coronavirus. Of these 6 022 have recovered and 186 have died.
