Oranje Street resident knifed, almost hijacked

A man from Oranje Street in Carletonville was stabbed and almost hijacked last week.

The Carletonville police say the incident occurred as the man stopped at his house at about 20:00 on 16 January. Suddenly, two unknown men came running up to him. “Give us your car,” they demanded. The resident refused to comply with their demand, however. A struggle ensued, during which the thugs knifed him several times in the chest. They then ran away empty-handed. Luckily the man got medical help and survived the attack.
