According to the latest statistics released by the Gauteng department of health 24 residents of the Merafong City Local Municipality had tested positive for the virus during the past day.
This brings our total number of cases to 3 977.
Of these 3 543 have so far recovered from the disease while 98 have died.
In the meantime the cases in our neighbouring areas have also increased. The total number of cases in Mogale City (the Krugersdorp-area) now stands at 11 221, of which 10 024 have recovered and 291 have died. So far 6 079 people have tested positive in Rand West City (the Randfontein and Westonaria area).
Of these 5 228 have recovered and 159 have died.
