According to figures released by the Gauteng department of health earlier today 57 residents of the Merafong City local municipal area tested positive for the virus. This brings the total number of people infected with the disease around Merafong City to 3 722 cases. Of these 3 311 have recovered.
A total of 87 residents of Merafong City have died from Covid-19.
In the meantime, there are also 10 491 people who have tested 10 491 positive in Mogale City (the Krugersdorp-area) and 5 532 who have tested positive in Rand West City (the Randfontein and Westonaria area).
9 085 people have recovered in Mogale City and 256 have died, while 4 645 have recovered in Rand West and 139 have died.
