Stretch legs for a good cause

This Saturday, residents can work on their fitness levels while supporting a good cause at the same time.

Young and old can take part in a virtual walk, run or cycle to show their support for the current campaign against gender-based violence. They can take part by completing whatever distance they want on the route of their choice between 06:00 and 17:00. The participants simply have to pay R20 to enter. The SAVF is orga- nising the event and will use the money to help women and children affected by gender-based violence. Instead of, or in addition to paying R20, anyone who wishes could buy toiletries for women in need. They can drop the donations off at the SAVF’s offices in Uralite Street, Carletonville. Meanwhile, the SAVF also hosted the “Say no to violence” self-defence workshops in Carletonville and Fochville to raise awareness for the same cause. The event drew many women, despite the rainy weather. Anyone who needs more information about Saturday’s event can contact the SAVF office at 018 786 1016.
