House robbery in Welverdiend

A woman from Welverdiend became the victim of a house robbery last weekend.

The Carletonville police say she was walking home at about 14:30 on Saturday, 21 November when a man in a Volkswagen Caddy stopped next to her. The driver asked for directions to 3rd Street and the woman explained to him how to get there.
She continued walking home, but as she approached her gate, she heard someone behind her. Before she could do anything, she realised that two unknown thugs were behind her. One of them pointed a firearm at her and warned her not to scream.

They then instructed her to open the gate, followed her to her door and forced her to open it.
The men, who spoke Tswana and Sotho, then asked for money. When she said she did not have any, they pushed her into her bedroom and covered her with a piece of plastic.
Too scared to move, the woman stayed under it until the house was quiet. She then got up and called the police.
The robbers fled with various items valued at R32,350.
