According to WO Peter Masooa of the police in Carletonville, an employee of the Clicks store in the Carletonville Mall made sure that everything in the shop was in order when they left it at 18:33 on 1 October.
When she returned at 06:23 the next morning, however, she immedi-ately saw that someone had broken a padlock to get into the store. She looked around and saw that the thieves had stolen most of the per- fumes in the shop.
The estimated value of the stolen fragrances is about R150 000. The police in Carletonville are investigating a case of business burglary following the incident.
