Robbers flee empty-handed

In a rather unusual incident, suspects fled from KFC in Carletonville without taking anything last week.

According to the communication officer of the police in Carletonville, WO Peter Masooa, a security guard was sitting in the KFC in Ada Street at around 20:40 on 23 January when the incident happened.
A man suddenly walked up to the guard and grabbed him by his clothes. In the process, he noticed that the guard had a panic button with him. He demanded the device and took the guard’s keys before asking for money. When the guard said he did not have any cash on him, the suspect held him at gun-point and dragged him towards the cashiers, where an armed accom- plice was already standing.
Inexplicably, the robbers suddenly left everything and ran out of the outlet. The personnel and the police suspect that something had disturbed them.
No one has been arrested in connection with the incident so far.
