New Fochville reservoir rising fast

Work on the new reservoir to supply the greater Fochville area is already in full swing.

The Merafong City Local Municipality appointed Safcrete as the contractor and the company started working at the site of the current reservoir in Disa Street at the end of May. The project entails building a second reservoir at the site, which will help to supply water to the communities of Kokosi, Greenspark and Fochville.
On 4 July, the excavation and reinforcement were advanced enough for the physical building of the reservoir to start soon.
Once complete, the new reservoir will be able to store five million megalitres of water. This is half the size of the 10-million megalitre reservoir that currently supplies the water to the area.
The area’s ward councillor, Ms Annett Venter, also expressed her appreciation at the progress at the site.
