Significant drug busts in Fochville

The police arrested two people on drug-related charges in the Greater Fochville area last weekend.

“The Fochville police, in a joint effort with West Rand District crime prevention’s intervention team and the West Rand flying squad left no stone unturned to find drugs over the weekend,” says the communications officer of the police in Fochville, Sgt Elsie Tshonte.
They arrested two suspects, one in Kokosi and the other in Losberg Avenue in Fochville for possession and dealing in drugs.
The first suspect was arrested for possession and dealing, as he had 96 Mandrax tablets, 140 packets of a substance believed to be nyaope and 218 packets of dagga with him when the police struck.
The second suspect was arrested for possession of an unknown drug, estimated to have a street value of about R80.
“The estimated street value of all the drugs recovered is R31,180,” says Tshonte.
“This will be the order of the day in future. It will no longer be business as usual for criminals. We are going to make life unbearable for them until we are fully convinced that all our inhabitants are safe”, says the West Rand District police commissioner, Maj.-General Fred Kekana.
