According to the police in Carletonville, the man and his girlfriend were at home in 5th Avenue on 19 June when the incident took place.
Four armed men stormed into the yard at around 19:00 and demanded an amount of R50 000 from the boyfriend. After he told them he did not have that kind of money, the intruders went to search his room.
They took the couple’s car keys and drove towards Carletonville in their own vehicle with the victim.
Halfway to Carletonville Mall, a gold or brown Volkswagen came along. The men stopped, forced the victim into the second vehicle and sped off.
