Robbers tie up domestic worker

A home in Oranje Street in Carletonville was the scene of a house robbery last week. According to the police in Carletonville, the incident happened at around 15:30 on 11 October.

The domestic worker, who was alone at the house, heard someone hooting at the gate. When she went out to investigate, she saw a green bakkie in the driveway. An African woman, who was standing next to the gate, asked her if she could use the toilet as she had an upset stomach.
The domestic worker opened the gate for the woman and she walked into the yard, followed by the man and a woman who had been with her in the car.
While on the way to the house, the woman who said she needed to use the toilet grabbed her from behind.
‘Don’t make a noise or this man will rape you,’ she allegedly told the housekeeper. The suspects then bound her hands and feet with brown tape.
While lying there, the domestic worker heard a vehicle coming into the yard. The intruders ransacked the house and eventually removed a whole safe with five hunting rifles and a tablet. They loaded the goods in their vehicle and drove away. Anyone who may have information that can assist the police in solving this crime can contact Col. America Mashapa at 083 763 4383.
