The new political spokesperson of the Merafong City Local Municipality is ready to
enlighten the public.
Mr Sammy Mosia started working in this position last month. The 38-year-old is already a well-known face at the municipality as he has worked as the secretary
to the manager in the Office of the Mayor since 2012. Although he was born in Soweto, Mosia later moved to Sannieshof, where he lived with family and completed
his school career. He moved to Carletonville in the 1990s to live with his mother,
who worked as a domestic worker. Since then, Mosia has worked in the private sector
and studied strategic management at the University of Johannesburg. He also
studied at Westcol.
‘I want to use this new position to really reach people, especially with regard to service delivery. I feel that the municipality must communicate so that no one is surprised when things happen,’ he told the Herald.
The quiet, but very friendly Mosia added that he particularly enjoyed working with the youth during municipal events like the sports tournaments he involved in, in the past.
