Dangerous heap at intersection

Motorists driving on the far eastern side of Carletonville must beware of damaging their vehicles on a long heap of earth that municipal workers left behind.

The heap of sand covers half the entrance into Takbok Street from Boundary Street.
It is so high that it would severely damage any vehicle driving over it.
“This is extremely dangerous. People could get killed here. When is the municipality coming back to fix it?” a resident recently complained.
Residents have complained about water leaking on this sidewalk on and off for over a year. Although the municipality must have recently worked at the site to cause the mess, water continued to leak from the sidewalk and streamed past several yards.

“The leaks will be sealed within the next seven (7) days. In line with the Annual Maintenance Programme that the municipality has developed, the road will also be fixed,” the municipal spokesperson replied.
