Fochville Bowling Club holds big competition

This was one of the club's big competitions.

Fochville held their annual Pig Day bowls competition last weekend and it was again one to remember.

The atmosphere was electric as bowling teams started arriving for the event. The wind was cold, but the sun was shining brightly, casting a golden glow over the green. The air was filled with the sound of chatter and excitement as clubs from all over came together to witness the spectacle. A total of 24 teams entered, battling it out to see who will be crowned victorious.

In the end a team from Fochville, with members Francois van der Merwe, Martin van Bosch and Gert Venter, walked off as the winners. A team from Parys was the runner-up while another team from Fochville came third.

“We want to thank everyone who made this day possible and all the players that participated. Without you, this day would not have been possible,” said the club’s spokesperson, Martin van Bosch.

This team from Parys Bowls Club, consisting of Jan Harmse, Melanie Kruger and Chris Wentzel, was the runners-up.
Another team from Fochville Bowling Club, which consisted of Wikus Viljoen, George Labuschagne and Angus MacDonald, was third.
