Local soccer going strong
Local players have various opportunities to improve their skill.
The soccer scene in the Merafong City Local Municipality area is currently strong and players are getting various opportunities.
According to the Chairperson of the Merafong City Local Football Association (MCLFA), Mbuyiselo Zuwani, a young local player is keeping the area’s name high. Ofentse Moduane, an u.17 player from Greenspark, is currently playing for Supersport United.
To assist him, the MCLFA and the municipal offices of community services, sports and recreation and the MMC of Sports, Arts and Recreation assisted with new soccer boots last week. Meanwhile, this year’s Mayoral Games will be launched on 6 July while there will be various knock-out games for this tournament on 13 and 14 July.
The finals will be at the Masizakhele stadium at East Driefontein.
The u.17 teams will also play their league finals this weekend.
