Khutsong businessman kidnapped and released after ransom
The family decided to cooperate with the kidnappers.
A Khutsong scrap metal dealer was kidnapped in the early morning hours of September 21.
The 36-year-old businessman apparently received a phone call that summoned him to meet with acquaintances at his business at about 03:00.
When he did not arrive at his home in Ext 5 after several hours, his wife went looking for him. She found his vehicle abandoned near the Bafana Tuck Shop.
She later received a phone call from her husband.
He said that he had been kidnapped and that his kidnappers demanded money for his release.
The wife notified the police, who immediately started to search for him.
The victim’s family eventually decided to pay the ransom for his release.
