Youth empowerment day

Young entrepreneurs can learn a lot.

A youth empowerment initiative will be taking place on Saturday, 29 June, at Carletonville Civic Centre from 11:00.

The event is about celebrating Youth Month in a way that can benefit the youth in regards to entrepreneurship. The positive initiative is brought by the Black Ladies Organization together with the Merafong Municipality Youth Office.

The purpose of the event is to encourage youth to create work for themselves and create employment for others by practising entrepreneurship in their daily lives. According to the Chairperson of the organization, Mrs Blessing Ramphomane, BLO is an NPO based in Merafong, and its main vision is to alleviate poverty and unemployment amongst women and youth by promoting the entrepreneurial spirit.

There will be different presentations from local entrepreneurs who will be speaking about their business endeavours. During the event, information will be shared to advance young people in different businesses. The participants will receive information on how to register their business, marketing, finding mentors, and accessing funding.

Unemployed matriculants, graduates, and entrepreneurs are invited to attend the event as there will be business start-up prizes to be won. There will also be entertainment from local artists who will be showcasing their talents during the youth empowerment day.
