Three day acting workshop in Carletonville

Some celebrities will also help with the training.

A comprehensive three-day workshop will take place in Carletonville at the Civic Centre from 5 to 7 July.

The workshops will focus on training techniques such as voice training, finding categories on screen and in theatre, and information regarding the business side of the industry, such as working with acting agencies.

Attendees will also learn about auditioning and conducting self-tapes, as is sometimes required by agencies.

The previous workshop, which took place in November 2022, was successful and featured a presentation by celebrity actor Mr. Lungile Radebe, who has appeared on “Deep City” (soapie) and is currently on “Generations” (soapie).

It is important to attend the workshop for all three days, as different topics will be covered each day.

Attendees will be rewarded with an attendance certificate, which will boost their profiles.

They will also be given a list of recommended agencies.

The workshop is hosted by MKB Pictures in collaboration with How Lucky? Studios and will feature celebrity actors such as Muzi Mthabela, who is on “Generations,” Simpho Mathenjwa, a theatre actor who was previously on the soapie “Scandal,” and Titus Mekgwe, a theatre actor who has also appeared on “The River.”

Aspiring actors and actresses from ages 5 to 12, as well as those aged 13 and older, are encouraged to attend.

There will be many activities during the workshop, including lessons on how to move on camera and how to use props on set.

Registration will take place before the workshop, and aspiring talented individuals are advised to attend to gain knowledge of the industry, learn how to behave professionally, deliver lines for monologues and dialogues, and read scripts.

The primary objective of the workshop is to bolster participants’ confidence in front of the camera while furnishing them with valuable insights and strategies for successful photo shoots and compelling profile presentations.

The organisers mentioned that there will be a photo shoot station during the event for attendees interested in kick-starting their careers.
