Police need information about deceased man’s identity

He is still unknown.

The police in Khutsong are looking for more information to identify the body of a man recently found in the veld.

According to Captain Eddie Boboko, the Khutsong detectives are investigating an inquest case after an incident last month.

A cattle herder was tending to his livestock when he came across the body of an unknown person in the open veld in the Rooi Neck area next to Khutsong Extension 3 on 14 May this year.

The body was badly decomposed and the herder immediately contacted the police.

“The body had two shorts pants underneath, a red short and a blue navy Adidas short. Police are still investigating the cause of death,” says Boboko.

No-one has yet come forward to claim the body or identify the person.

The Acting Station Commander of Khutsong, Lt Col Caxton Zikalala, is appealing to members of the community to assist in identifying the body. Anyone who think they have any information, can contact Detective Warrant Officer Junius Coetzer at 082 876 8686 for more information.
