The rising superstar from Khutsong Township, Mr Tsietso Letlojane, known as Tee Jay Omar, is making the entire Merafong, as well as West Rand, proud with his latest achievements.
The sensational singer recently announced that he will be working with a national celebrity, Mr Kabelo Motsamai, who is a South African DJ and music producer professionally known as Prince Kaybee. The platinum-selling muso apparently reached out to Tee Jay after he posted a song by the artist that he remixed.
According to Tee Jay, he went on TikTok a month ago, found the muso’s video, then sang the song on video and uploaded it. There was a positive reaction from fans after a few days, which led the video to go viral. Apparently, the video also went viral on Twitter, catching the attention of the musician who was impressed with the vocal abilities of the singer, comparing his voice to a well-known singer, “Dr. Malinga”.
Tee Jay was headhunted by the celebrity who has released singles such as “Amaphiko Ezono”, “Inkubulo” featuring Azana, and “Oh boy” featuring Start Healer, released on his leading album “Music Theory”. After Tee Jay was discovered through social media, the musician arranged studio time with the singer. He went to the studio on Saturday, May 27, at Virgin Mobile Group in Johannesburg to record a song that will apparently be featured on the muso’s new album.
Details of the song release will be announced in the near future, according to the singer. “On a normal day, this would be just another studio session between two music creators, but this was not just a session; it was a historic moment for a small-town dreamer whose journey has been a rollercoaster ride, and this moment right here is nothing short of legendary,” he expressed on the social media platform known as Facebook. Prince Kay Bee also expressed his love for the singer on social media and thanked him for coming to record the tune with him.
“You are very talented, and I wish nothing but good things for you,” he added. The song is yet to be released, but the singer had already planned to release a new song which was a collaboration with Maakzen on May 31 titled “Ekhaya”. It seems like Tee Jay has struck his winning luck after years of struggling and working extremely hard to show his talent by recording and performing songs around the country. He mentioned that he recently received an opportunity for sponsorship from a national network service provider called “MTN”, in partnership with AMP Studios, where he was offered free studio time.
Tee Jay has more collaborations with different artists on the pipelines that will be released this year, which will be officially announced as there have been wonderful things happening in his career, and he said that the best is yet to come. The singer is deeply thankful for the progress despite facing numerous challenges on their incredible journey.
