Violent criminals again struck in our area.

House robbers struck twice in one night in Blyvooruitzicht on Saturday,  April 6.

Residents were asleep in their home on Horizon Street at about 02:50.
They suddenly awoke to the noise of someone breaking the front door open.

Unknown thugs then stormed into the house.

“We want your cell phones and money,” they demanded.

A 63-year-old man tried to defend himself with a steel rod and spear when they tried to enter his room, and the robbers shot him twice in the chest before running away with the loot.

The police are investigating a murder following the incident.

The second incident happened on Tower Street at approximately 03:00. The resident (24) was baking bread in his shack when two unknown thugs stormed in.

“We want your cell phone and money,” they demanded.

The man gave them his valuables, and the thugs fled the scene.

The police are investigating a house robbery. They suspect the same thugs targeted both houses.
