House robbers threaten employee and owner

A homeowner on Bergbos Street in Carletonville came face to face with a gang of house robbers this week.

The incident happened on 23 August.
The domestic worker was alone at home when four unknown men stormed in at approximately 12:45.
The thugs, who spoke Tswana and Zulu, pulled out firearms and pointed them at her.
“We want the keys to the safe,” they demanded.
When she said she did not have them as she only worked there, they took cell phones and money.
They then grabbed a flat-screen television and ran from the home. When the criminals arrived at the gate, however, they realised they had the wrong remote and returned to the house to get the right one.
Meanwhile, the domestic worker had phoned her employer just after they left.
The homeowner raced to his house, thinking the robbers had already fled. Unfortunately, he was so quick that he ran into them at the gate.
The thugs again pulled out their firearms and demanded the keys. The owner, thinking fast, did not hand them over but ran away as fast as he could.
The robbers then also fled.
