House robbers strike in Aster Street

Although this type of crime is not occurring as frequently in Carletonville as earlier this year, residents must still be on the lookout for house robbers.

The latest such incident took place in Aster Street on 22 July.
The 27-year-old tenant of a back room was asleep in her room when she was suddenly woken up by two unknown men at approximately 03:00. One of the men was masked and wore gloves while the other had a firearm.
Both thugs spoke Zulu.
The robber with the firearm guarded her while his accomplice started to search the woman’s room. They took her television set, cellphone and money before running away.
It was later determined that the thugs had broken a window and from there managed to get hold of the keys to the burglar door.
Luckily no one was injured.
