Round Table making a difference

The Round Table Carletonville50 Club is making a difference in the community by filling empty stomachs during the cold winter.

According to the chairperson, Dale Kirk, the members and friends of the organisation have actively got involved in Round Table’s annual Winter Knights project, which aims to provide essential support to those in need within Carletonville, the surrounding townships and Welverdiend.
Led by the dedicated chairperson and members of Round Table Carletonville50, the main focus has been to distribute soup, of which approximately 600 litres have been delivered so far, accompanied by loaves of bread. So far, over 150 loaves have been given out.
Every Thursday, the team has tirelessly set out to deliver these much-needed provisions to individuals struggling to meet their basic needs. The project has reached a substantial number of people, extending a helping hand during the challenging winter season.
During the initiative, Carletonville50 members have witnessed first-hand the heartbreaking sight of ordinary people living on the streets. According to Kirk, however, they consider it a privilege to contribute positively to their lives. Through their efforts, the team has exemplified the spirit of compassion and solidarity, bringing hope to those who need it the most.
Carletonville50 has not undertaken this project alone. Friends of the organisation have eagerly joined them every Thursday night to participate in the distribution efforts. This collaboration has amplified the impact of their work, fostering a sense of unity within the
community.
The event of Thursday, 22 June, was even more special when local preschool teachers and staff also helped out. “We at Carletonville50 would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the sponsors who have supported this project thus far. Their assistance has been invaluable in ensuring the success of the Annual Winter Knights project. The team acknowledges that each sponsor has played a vital role in improving the lives of the less fortunate and expresses their sincere appreciation for their positive impact,” says Kirk.
