Carletonville police seek suspect in rape case

The public is urged to assist to find this suspect.

The Carletonville FCS (Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences) Unit is looking for this suspect in connection with a rape that took place in the area recently.

According to the police, the victim (25) left the house of her boyfriend at the Elijah Barayi mega housing complex after they had an argument.

On her way home on August 10, four unknown men approached her. They pulled out firearms, grabbed her and took her to a housing unit nearby where they took turns raping her.

The police have drawn up a facial composition of one of the suspects. He is tall, has a dark complexion and is between 26 and 30 years old.

At the time of the incident, he wore a blue two-piece overall and black shoes as well as a torn yellowish baseball cap.

According to reports, the suspect was calm and gave instructions to the other rapists in “Tsotsi language”.

Anyone who recognises him or has any other information, are urged to call the investigating officer, Constable Aphiwe Mvubu on 073 995 2980.
