Boy dies after accident on the Welverdiend road
The Welverdiend road has been the scene of various accidents involving pedestrians.
A young pedestrian was tragically killed after being hit by a car on Friday.
The accident happened between Carletonville and Welverdiend. It is believed the 13-year-old boy was with his mother, a resident of Khutsong Ext 5, at the road near the bridge at Ext 5 at about 15:10.
Although it is not exactly clear how the accident happened, the boy was hit by the vehicle of a Welverdiend resident.
He was rushed to Carletonville Hospital, but succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival at the facility. Police are investigating a culpable homicide case.
