Leaks continue to be a problem

The municipality promised to attend to the issues.

Water and sewage leaks continue to be a huge problem in our area.

During the past week sewage and water was streaming down Dolomite Road in Carletonville.

The turn-off into Talc Street was completely flooded, and closer inspection showed that the leak stemmed from a sewage leak nearby.

The sewage streamed out of overflowing manhole next to the fence of the first yard in Talc Street. The veld next to the road was also completely flooded with sewage. Water also streamed down the road from higher up the street.

Meanwhile, sewage was also streaming down another of Carletonville’s main access roads, Agnew Road, this week.

Although there were other leaks as well, the biggest leak occurred at the intersection with Norite Street. Bystanders pointed out that the sewage streamed from a manhole in a yard at the corner of Norite and Kernite Streets.

The municipality promised to attend to the matters after the Herald asked them about it on Monday.
