Bakkie hijacked on N12

Hijackings continue to occur on the main roads in our area.

A bakkie was hijacked on the N12 on 27 March.

An employee (57) of a Johannesburg business selling bearings was driving his employer’s white H100 Hyundai bakkie to go and deliver the goods in Potchefstroom. A white Toyota Quantum with blue lights on the dashboard and in its rear window stopped him near the entrance to Mponeng mine at about 10:30.

The people inside the Quantum, four men and a woman, all wore police unforms and were armed with pistols. They at first asked the employee’s driver’s license, but then forced him into the Quantum.

The thugs forced to him lie down and cover his face and drove with him for some time before dropping him off in an open veld.

The driver then made his way to the Westonaria police station.

His employer’s bakkie, which has the registration number FL 45 FP GP has still not been found.
