Big plans at Carletonville SPCA

The Carletonville SPCA has new plans to involve the community in its work in the area.

The Carletonville SPCA plans to give the organisation’s facilities a makeover.

The SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) recently asked the community for help.

“Many residents do not realise that we are a non-profit organisation that must generate funding ourselves to survive,” says one of their committee members, Mrs Wanda Kramer.

On Human Rights Day, Connexions Church from Carletonville organised a community event to help the SPCA clean and fix the facility. Residents brought their tools and helped paint and clean up by doing things like weeding.

According to Kramer, the SPCA appreciated the help very much. The community painted the wall on the back of the parking lot black, among other things.

The Carletonville SPCA plans to get community members involved in a fun competition to design a new logo they will paint on the wall.

“We have many plans to get the community involved in our actions, as more people need to know the role the SPCA plays in the community and the selfless work the personnel does to ensure the welfare of animals in the area,” the enthusiastic Kramer concluded.
