Local model aiming for Miss Teenager title

A passionate young model from Carleton Jones High School is a finalist in the Miss Teenager South Africa Pageant.

Oratilwe Malekutu, a passionate young model from Carleton Jones High School, is a finalist in the Miss Teenager South Africa Pageant on 8 and 9 December.

The 16-year-old grade 10 student is keen to embark on the journey, and cannot wait to meet the other finalists.

Oratilwe started modelling at the age of 10. Her desire to help other girls feel good about themselves and boost their self-esteem sparked her passion for the catwalk.

Modelling helps her advocate for her charity, Oratilwe Ke Sechaba go Thuša Sechaba Foundation, which has been running for two years. She collects non-perishable food, stationery, clothing, and sanitary pads for disadvantaged communities. The organisation aims to restore dignity and confidence in young children who have lost hope and resorted to crime and drugs. She also offers soup kitchens on occasion.

”It’s not how much we give, but how much love we put into it,” she quotes Mother Teressa.

Oratilwe has a passion for empowering others and promoting positive change. The opportunity to become Miss Teenager SA will enhance her objective to serve the community through her foundation. She also wants to use the platform to promote inclusivity and diversity within the industry, work towards breaking stereotypes and promote body positivity by encouraging a more diverse range of participants and celebrating different forms of beauty. She strives to continue inspiring and mentoring aspiring contestants and wants to share her experiences, tips, and advice to help them navigate the pageant world. and achieve
