Thugs kidnap business owner

An immigrant businessman from Carletonville had a harrowing experience this week.

The Carletonville police say the business owner from Pakistan stopped his silver Chevrolet near the mosque on Emerald Street at approximately 18:30 on Tuesday, 14 June, when the incident happened. Five unknown men suddenly ran up to his vehicle and grabbed him. They drove him to an unknown location, phoned his brother and demanded a large ransom.
His brother called the police, and their negotiators started speaking with the kidnappers. They later released the businessman unscathed.
The police suspect the victim had been held some-where in the Blyvoor area before being released.
