The police say the incident happened at the Rooipoort dumping site near Blybank at approximately 13:40 on Tuesday, 31 May. A group of Zulu speakers and Sotho- speaking inhabitants of the dump started fighting each other.
The fight got out of control, and two Zulus died after being stabbed with knives.
One of them died at the scene, while the other passed away in Carletonville Hospital.
On 1 June, Carletonville detectives conducted a special operation at the dump to track down the killers.
They arrested 13 men allegedly involved in the crime. All the accused were confirmed to be illegal immigrants from Lesotho.
