On Friday evening, five people were injured when two light motor vehicles collided on the N12 outside Potchefstroom.
ER24 paramedics arrived at 21h25 to find one light motor vehicle in the road while the other was on the side of the road. A woman was seated inside one vehicle while three adults and a 1-year-old boy were seated on the side of the road.
Medics assessed the patients and found that the woman seated inside the vehicle was in a serious condition while the four other patients had sustained minor to moderate injuries.
The patients were treated for their injuries and were later transported to Potchefstroom Provincial Hospital for urgent care.
The local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
