According to WO Peter Masooa, the police were called to a house in Oranje Street at approximately 10:00 on Monday. The neighbours called in because they had heard fighting and screaming from inside the house.
When police arrived and started searching the house, they found a 50-year-old woman dead in the shower.
She had been severely assaulted.
Her 45-year-old boyfriend was arrested at the scene.
He was scheduled to appear in court last week.
