Poetry and Comedy Show

A poetry and comedy show will be taking place on Saturday 4 December at MoAcCity in Welverdiend 114 Avenue.

The event is part of a series of events that have been taking place this year at the artistic space where local creative people have been gathering to showcase their talents. The most recent event was a theatre show where local productions were awarded with medals and trophies.
The events bring some artistic energy to Welverdiend.
The upcoming event will be a fusion of local poetry and comedy.
Performers of both these arts will share a platform, which will be the first of kind in our area. It will ensure the collaboration of various local creative people.
The event is presented by the Comedy Alliance, which is a movement of local comedians have been very active in the local scene as they have hosted several shows around Carletonville.
They have also managed to perform at nearby towns such as Krugersdorp and Potchefstroom.
The comedy line-up will include comedians from the stand-up comedy crew such as Taolo Bulani, known as Ke Boiki, Division Mbhungani known as Mdivaro A.K.A Divinytor, RamoRei Seleaone known as Hloxx Rei, Phakamile Pethu known as Phaks and Macdonald Nkahata known as MacD (Funny Neck).
They will also be joined by respected local poets who will be blessing the event with their thought provoking performances.
In the line-up of poets there will the well respected Kgosietsile Monoto Known as Rre Dot, who is the founder of Khutsong Literary Club and who has recently been involved with a local band.
This artist will be blessing the audience with his drums and Tswana poetry.
There will also be other local poets who are all young leaders in their own right, such as Lesedi Tshedza, who is the one of the founders Awoke in Words Organisation as well as the Bring Back Poetry event.
There will be other well-known names such as Mr Mahavatar, who is the founder of Mythology Arts Foundation and has been recently shooting a thrilling film in Khutsong.
There will also be other poets such as Lunar, The Black Voice, Mncedisi, Wizard, Lonwabo, Chief The Poeter as well as Mbali.
The poetry session will be empowered by MoAc, which is an organisation that stands for Mentors of Millions of African Children and is dedicated to serving communities and workplaces. MoAcCity is a space for local creative people to host their own exclusive events in order to cultivate a culture through arts.
They are already planning more events that will taking place locally.
Poetry and comedy lovers are invited to support the event in numbers in order to ensure growth within the local entertainment industry.
