Robbers strike at Choppies

Armed assailants robbed the Choppies supermarket in Carletonville recently.

According to the Carletonville police, the incident happened on Wednesday, 3 November.
Staff were busy in the supermarket when two unknown men walked in at around 16:30.
They immediately pulled the security guard aside and asked him to call the store manager. The guard had no choice but to comply when both pulled out firearms.
“We want the money,” they demanded. Personnel complied and the robbers fled on foot with between R30,000 and R40,000.
