The owner of the Beat Box Dance Studio in Carleton- ville, Delarize Barnard, says their dancers recently com-peted in the dance category of the annual online Vinatix Eisteddfod.
“This was a first for my students and I am very proud of my girls. Hard work pays off,” says Barnard.
Three local dancers ex- celled in the hip-hop solo category.
Here, Mia van der Merwe obtained a gold medal with a score of 80 per cent, while Kaylene Oosthuizen scored silver with 71 per cent. Charné Volschenk also scored silver with 70 per cent.
Meanwhile, the modern dancing duet, Nadia Volschenk and Tatiana Gouws obtained 77 per cent, earning silver.
The school’s junior hip-hop group scored gold with 80 per cent while the hip-hop seniors group brought home silver with a score of 75 per cent.
“I would like to thank you for the hard work and dedication. I am proud to say you are part of the Beat Box family. Let’s move to the beat,” says Barnard.
