Polo hijacked near Blybank

An incident this week showed, yet again, that hijackers are even targetting sedans in our area.

The Carletonville police say the driver of a Volkswagen Polo was driving on the R559 between Carletonville and Blybank at about 09:00 on Wednesday 22 September when the incident took place.
A white Nissan Tiida with four male occupants overtook and gestured for him to stop. T

he driver had just brought his vehicle to a standstill when the men jumped out of the Tiida and grabbed him.
They forced him onto the backseat of his Polo and warned him to keep quiet and not to look around. After some time, he heard the men discussing that some of them would be dropped off at home.
Soon afterwards, the hijackers stopped on the side of the road and forced the owner out.

He realised he was on the N12 near Zuurbekom and hiked to the nearest police station.
By printing time, his Polo with the registration number JN 54 XX GP had still not been found.
