ER24 paramedics and the Provincial Services arrived at 18:50 to find three light motor vehicles in the middle of the road. A man and woman were found lying trapped inside the light motor vehicles, while a female infant was lying outside one vehicle. Several others were seen walking around the scene.
Medics assessed the patients and found that the entrapped man and woman, as well as the infant, had sustained fatal injuries. Nothing could be done for them, and they were declared dead. Eleven others were found with minor to serious injuries, while two had escaped injury.
Medics treated the patients and provided the seriously injured with advanced life support interventions before they were transported to nearby hospitals for further care.
