According to the Gauteng Department of Health 55 new cases have been reported during the past day, while 69 were reported the previous day. This brings our total number of cases to 5 900, of which 5 388 patients have recovered and 228 have died. Elsewhere in the West Rand things are looking even worse. During the past day alone there were 310 new cases in Mogale City (the Krugersdorp-area) and 168 new cases in Rand West City (the Randfontein and Westonaria area). There are now 15 367 cases in Mogale City, of which 13 611 patients have recovered and 435 have died. The total number of cases in Rand West City are 8 149, of which 7 244 patients have recovered and 245 have died.
