Covid-19 cases still growing steadily

The new coronavirus cases in the Merafong City Local Municipality area have still been growing stadily during the past week.

According to the Gauteng Department of Health’s statistics, there are a total of 5 764 cases of the disease in Merafong by Tuesday, 8 June. This is a huge 156 cases more than the 5 606 reported a week ago. Luckily none of our residents died of Covid-19 during the past week, with the death toll still staying at 227. Meanwhile 5 359 patients have already recovered of the disease by Tuesday, which is 88 cases more than a week ago. Elsewhere in the West Rand there are 14 740 cases in Mogale City, which is 780 cases more than the 13 960 cases of a week ago. A total of which 13 413 have recovered and 424 have died. There are also 7 836 cases in Rand West City, which is 393 cases more than the7 443 of a week ago. Of these patients 7 169 have recovered and 242 have died.
