According to the Carletonville police, the family was relaxing in their home in Harry Gwala Street when the incident happened just after 19:00 on Monday. They were watching television when three men stormed in, pulled out firearms, pointed them at the family and demanded money. The criminals and three accomplices then proceeded to ransack the house. They stole money, four cell phones and a plasma tele- vision, which they carried to their silver-grey Mercedes-Benz parked outside.
Before they left, the suspects grabbed the woman and forced her into their vehicle. They drove to Khutsong Exten-sion 3 with her, while continually demanding more money. When they realised she did not know of any extra money, they drove her back towards Extension 5 and dropped her off at the bridge. The woman was not injured.
