The Carletonville police say the incident took place in Geldenhuys Street at approximately 13:40 on Sunday. The family were inside when three men and a woman arrived at the house.
“We are from the police and have a search warrant for this property,” they told the family.
The family members refused to let them in.
“First show us your police IDs and the search warrant,” one of them said.
Instead of producing them, the robbers all pulled out firearms and threatened the family.
They took their cell phones and fled the scene in a Volkswagen Polo.
